What is Electrolysis?
Simply, it's permanent hair removal.
First performed by Dr. Charles Michel in 1875, using a fine wire and Galvanic current to remove ingrown eyelashes. "Electrolysis" was born. Today, electrolysis has continued to be the ONLY hair removal treatment recognized by the FDA as PERMANENT.
Using an ultra-fine probe inserted into the natural hair follicle, a low grade current is delivered into the dermal papilla to destroy germ cells. These germ cells are the catalyst to hair growth. Over time, and with consistent treatments, these cells will be completely eliminated and hair growth is no longer possible, thus PERMANENT!
Is it painful?
Our state-of-the-art equipment is the latest technology on the market today. The epilating "machine" allows for a multitude of settings to ensure maximum comfort even when performed over extended periods of time. It can be described as a warm sensation.
Can I have Electrolysis performed on me?
YES! Unlike laser treatments that can only target a very specific population and boast only permanent reduction, electrolysis is proven to be safe and is the only approved method of permanent hair removal according to the FDA. It is non-discriminatory and can be performed on any skin type, hair type, skin color or hair color.
How expensive is it?
When taking into consideration the ongoing costs of temporary hair removal methods such as the use of depilatories, waxing, threading, and shaving, Electrolysis is the most cost-effective method as, most importantly...its' results are PERMANENT!
Cost per treatment is based on length of session.
How long will it take?
As there is no "magic number" of treatments that can be promised, the amount of time it takes is different for each person. This is based on skin type, hair type, past practices of skin care and consistency of treatments. A custom treatment plan will be determined based on these factors and commitment is essential to achieve permanent results.
